Here I am going to look at some logos. I am going to try and concentrate on band and music artist logos so that it is relevant logos and can easily get ideas and inspiration for the logo that I am going to design for the band. But also I am going to look at logos which are just for any company or person just because I think that it is good to see all kinds of logos just so that I can pick certain aspects of logos that I like and take this forward to the client to see what kind of logo they would like.
I think this will then help me with the mood of the logo, CD cover, CD label and business card.
The KISS logo is very recognisable world wide and so I think maybe something quite bold and colourful could work.
Rolling Stones: A logo like this as previous is also instantly recognizable. It is a good and simple piece of graphic design which could be done again in a different style and image to suit the bands music.
I really like this logo. It is quite big for a logo but I think it works. I am hoping that the client will also like this logo. Then I will know whether they are after something a little more vibrant or simple.
The idea behind this Scissor Sisters logo is clever but is also recognizable if you know the band. But the good thing about this logo is that it ''does exactly what it says on the tin'' which is sometimes the best way of making a logo. Although with the band I am designing for it could be a little more difficult but the initial logo is good.
This is an obvious logo. But it can be used in many different forms, changing the colour and the place it can be put on a CD cover etc. Multi purpose!
After looking through quite alot of logos which are bands it has been quite obvious that most bands actually have used the band name in their identity or logo. I think that I will take this on board and talk to the client about this to see whether this is something they are willing to go ahead with as a part of their identity.
-----------------
I am now going to look at a few logos which I think are good as stand alone logos (without the name of the company or artist) but also just logos which aren't bands.
This
isnt a band logo but I really liked the simplicity of this. It is not a
band logo but I think there is an element in there that could be useful
for helping the client decide what kind of logo they would like.
